Intercept's Interactive Community Action Program is an employee-driven committee that helps plan, coordinate
and execute the company's philanthropic activities. Through the program, Intercept gives back to the
communities it serves by donating time and resources to a variety of local community organizations.
 

Undertone hosted its fourth annual food drive from July 16-19, 2007 and donated nearly 2,800 food items to the Food Bank for New York City, making it the company’s most successful food drive to date. The Food Bank helps provide more than 250,000 meals a day for New Yorkers who otherwise would go hungry or not eat enough, and has distributed more than 744 million pounds of food to more than 1,000 community and emergency food programs throughout New York City.


On May 5, 2007 Intercept participated in the 10th Annual Revlon Run/Walk For Women, one of the nation’s largest 5K fundraising events. To date, the Run/Walks (in Los Angeles and New York) have distributed nearly 45 million dollars for women’s cancer research, counseling, and outreach programs. In the company’s second year participating, the team exceeded its fundraising goal by nearly 40 percent.


On April 17, 2007 Intercept employees spent time at Animal Care and Control of New York City‘s Manhattan branch walking dogs as part of its Dog Walking Program. AC&C dogs wore orange “Adopt Me” vests while out on walks and Intercept employees provided information about the dogs to interested individuals and potential adopters.


In March 2007, Intercept employees sent e-mails and signed petitions to raise awareness about the crisis in Darfur, Sudan. Darfur has been embroiled in a deadly conflict for over three years. At least 400,000 people have been killed; more than 2 million innocent civilians have been forced to flee their homes and now live in displaced-persons camps in Sudan or in refugee camps in neighboring Chad; and more than 3.5 million men, women, and children are completely reliant on international aid for survival. From December 4-15, 2006, Intercept held its third annual food drive to benefit City Harvest, New York City's only food-rescue organization. The company matched employee donations can for can and in total Intercept donated 2,781 food items, making it the company’s largest donation yet.


In December 2006, Intercept organized its second annual Adopt-a-Family program with the HOPE Center, a primary care clinic for individuals living with HIV and AIDS, and part of St. John's Riverside Hospital. This year we “adopted” 28 families, requested “wish lists”, purchased and wrapped holiday gifts from these lists and delivered them to the HOPE Center.


In December 2006, Intercept held its second annual food drive to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank which distributes 26 million pounds of food annually through a network of more than 500 community service agencies serving low-income households in every neighborhood of the city.


On November 4, 2006 Intercept employees spent the day at Animal Care & Control of New York City’s Manhattan branch walking dogs, brushing cats, and helping potential pet adopters. Through its 5 branches the AC&C receives approximately 150 abandoned or lost animals a day. While we were there we saw a several pets adopted including one dog that went home with an Intercept employee.


On October 21, 2006 Intercept employees spent the day at PS 70 in Queens during New York Cares Day. Throughout the day Intercept painted an ocean mural near the cafeteria, planted hundreds of spring bulbs, painted the playground walls and picked up garbage on the school grounds. This was Intercept’s third consecutive year participating in New York Cares Day and with more than 8,000 volunteers helped revitalize 117 New York City public schools at this year’s event.

October 6 wasn't any ordinary casual Friday at Intercept. The denim worn on this day was not only worn for comfort, it made a powerful statement for an important cause. As Lee National Denim Day moved into its second decade, Intercept participated in its first year of the grassroots program which has raised more than $61 million for breast cancer research.

On May 6, 2006, Intercept joined 40,000 participants in the 9th Annual Revlon Run/Walk For Women. Intercept employees raised funds to help support important research into the cause and cure of women's cancers, prevention, education and support service programs. Intercept exceeded its fundraising goal by nearly 20 percent this year.


On April 22, 2006, Intercept employees joined thousands of volunteers at the 12th Annual Hands On New York Day. Organized by New York Cares, Hands On New York Day is an annual citywide day of
service in which volunteers revitalize city spaces. Intercept employees spent the day working in Canarsie Park in Brooklyn.


In December 2005, Intercept held its second annual food drive to benefit City Harvest, New York City's
only food-rescue organization dedicated to feeding New York City's hungry men, women and children.

On October 22, 2005, Intercept employees volunteered for the second consecutive year during New York
Cares Day. Nearly 8,000 volunteers helped paint a brighter future for New York City students at 110
public schools throughout the five boroughs. Intercept employees painted an underwater-themed mural
at PS 185 in Manhattan. more


On August 24, 2005, Intercept hosted its first company-sponsored blood drive at its New York
headquarters. Intercept collected more than 100 units of blood and helped address a critical need
for blood in New York and New Jersey. more
