Intercept Interactive Partners with New York Blood Center
to Help Address
Local Blood Emergency
New York – August 31, 2005 – Intercept Interactive, a full-service recognized interactive advertising
and marketing services firm, announced today the successful completion of its first company-sponsored blood
drive at its New York headquarters. Intercept collected more than 100 units of blood and helped address a
critical need for blood in the New York and New Jersey area.
"With the success of Intercept's previous charitable activities we thought it would be great to hold a
blood drive at our office," stated Michael Cassidy, Intercept's Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "Our
employees really came through - it was very exciting to be able to make such an impact on so many lives in
the community."
The New York and New Jersey community needs 2,000 volunteer donations each day to ensure adequate blood
products are available for patients in need. During the summer months and holiday periods the need for blood,
given elective surgeries, vacation and other factors, is higher than normal, while recruiting donors is
particularly difficult.
"The New York Blood Center would like to thank Intercept for hosting the blood drive. It couldn't have come
at a better time," stated Brandon Osorio, Director of Blood Drives for the New York Blood Center. "Blood
donations lag 25 percent behind what is required to adequately serve patients in close to 200 New York and
New Jersey hospitals. Thanks to Intercept's efforts, we can help more than 300 people in the community."
Intercept's blood drive was organized by the company's Interactive Community Action Program. The Interactive
Community Action Program is an employee-driven committee that supports employee volunteer efforts,
collections and various charitable drives within the company. Through the program, Intercept and its
employees are giving back to the communities they serve and coming together to support vital community
services.
