Intercept Interactive Participates in New York Cares Day to Benefit
New York City Public Schools
New York – October 24, 2005 – Intercept Interactive, a full-service recognized interactive advertising
and marketing services firm, volunteered for the second consecutive year at New York Cares Day on October
22. New York Cares Day is an annual event organized by New York Cares, a community volunteer organization,
which benefits New York City public schools.
Intercept employees painted an underwater-themed mural at PS 185 in Manhattan. "New York Cares Day is
important to our employees," stated Michael Cassidy, President and CEO of Intercept Interactive. "It's a
great opportunity for us to come together as a team and support this important event."
On New York Cares Day nearly 8,000 volunteers helped paint a brighter future for New York City students
at 110 public schools throughout the five boroughs. In just one day, more than 350 murals were painted; new
line games were added to dozens of playgrounds; more than 50 libraries were organized; and hundreds of
flowers were planted at New York City public schools. These efforts provided over $1,000,000 in value to
city schools, while raising critical funds to support New York Cares.
Intercept's involvement with New York Cares Day was organized by the company's Interactive Community Action
Program. The Interactive Community Action Program is an employee-driven committee that helps plan,
coordinate and execute the company's philanthropic activities. Through the program, Intercept is giving back
to the communities it serves and coming together as a company to support vital community initiatives.

About New York Cares
New York Cares is a community organization dedicated to helping meet critical community needs by mobilizing
volunteers in New York. In 1987, a group of friends was eager to tackle the social challenges of New York
City. Like many other caring New Yorkers with demanding work schedules, they searched in vain for an
organization offering flexible, hands-on volunteer opportunities. Finding none, they decided to form a new
organization, with a new and unique approach: New York Cares. This approach involves offering
professional-quality volunteer organizing to a wide range of social service agencies, schools, and
environmental groups. As one of the most rapidly growing volunteer organizations in New York City, New
York Cares now has a full-time staff of 40 and a corps of over 20,000 volunteers. For more information,
